About project

See the war up close — through the eyes of a witness.

The project “War Up Close” is a documentary space of memory, created using 360° panoramas, drone videos, and 3D models, revealing to the world the truth about the genocide of the Ukrainian nation.

This is a place where the silence of the destroyed streets speaks louder than any words. Where every frame is evidence of Russia’s crimes against Ukraine. Thanks to the efforts of the Discover.ua team, FreegenGroup, and photojournalist Mykola Omelchenko, you will be able to see the war not through the news screens, but see it as those who live near the front.

This project is about memory, testimony, and justice.

War Up Close - memorialization of destruction

This is the first Ukrainian virtual project that uses VR technologies to document war crimes, destruction, and humanitarian consequences of a full-scale invasion.

As part of the virtual tour, you will be able to:

See war without embellishment — through 360° panoramas, drone footage, and photo reports from the sites of destruction.
Visualize the destruction, the scale of the consequences, and feel how war changes space, cities, and people's lives.
To understand tragedy not as a statistic, but as a human story that could happen to anyone.
Look at historical events from a different perspective, rethink values.
Watch the tour from anywhere in the world, forming global solidarity with Ukraine.
Form your own opinion based on facts through a new level of information perception that engages and impresses.
