About exhibition
The virtual exhibition “How are You?” offers an opportunity to experience one of the most painful and significant periods in Ukraine’s recent history through art. In 2023, the Ukrainian House presented more than 500 works by 100 artists, capturing the lived experience from February 2022 to spring 2023. To ensure that this experience would not disappear with the closure of the physical exhibition, it was preserved in the form of an online 3D tour—as a space for memory, reflection, and dialogue with oneself.
The online walk-through of the exhibition is structured as an emotional chronology: from the cold spring of 2022 to the spring of 2023, with a separate fifth floor—a “point of silence”—symbolizing the first two weeks of the full-scale war. A wide range of voices is brought together here—from professional and neurodivergent artists alike—representing diverse experiences, emotional states, and ways of speaking about pain, loss, hope, and survival. The question “How are you?”, which after February 24, 2022 became both a daily refrain and an unbearably difficult one, resonates in this exhibition with honesty and depth. That is why it is important to see it online—at your own pace, with the freedom to pause, to feel, and to truly hear one another.
