About the audio guide
The audio guide to the exhibition “The Kyiv Principality of the 14th–15th Centuries: The Ukrainian Factor in Europe’s Security” offers a deeper immersion into a little-known yet pivotal period in Kyiv’s history, when the city was an important political and defensive center of Europe. Through narrated storytelling, you will learn how Kyiv restored its statehood after the Mongol invasion, returned to the European political sphere, and became part of a security system stretching from the Baltic to the Black Sea.
Guiding you through the exhibition, the audio guide explains the significance of unique artifacts—medieval documents, seals, maps, weapons, and military banners—and highlights the role of the Gediminids, Olelkovychs, and Holshany dynasties in shaping Kyiv’s political and ecclesiastical autonomy. It is an opportunity to hear a coherent history free of myths and distortions—about Ukraine’s contribution to European security and the continuity of its state-building tradition, a perspective that is especially important to understand today.
